Selecting a Program to Evaluate
When choosing a program to evaluate with Hello Insight, consider the following:
Reporting Requirements
Consider using Hello Insight to evaluate programs that have external reporting requirements, especially those that need data about:
Program quality
Impact and outcomes on young people
Staff capacity and development
If you have the option, focus on well-established Sites and Groups with strong positive youth development practices.
Learning Priorities
Consider which programs will help you meet your specific learning priorities.
Marketing or sharing your impact: Select Programs, Sites, or Groups that are going to highlight your bright spots.
Program improvement or staff capacity: Choose the Programs, Sites, or Groups you want to learn more about or better support.
Learning what worked well or didn’t work well: Focus on Programs, Sites, and Groups that may be strong and also may have challenges.
Your Capacity
After selecting your Program, it’s time to decide what scope of data collection feels manageable.
Getting started with Hello Insight? You may want to introduce surveys gradually, with one or two Sites or Groups.
Experienced with Hello Insight or with survey administration? You may want to include many or all Sites and Groups.
